Homemade Cashew Butter Recipe

cashew butter recipe

This is the most perfectly simple cashew butter recipe you will find.  With no added crappy ingredients or sugar of any sort.  It’s just pure unadulterated healthy fats, from the nuts and coconut oil, and a little sea salt to taste.

It’s a nut butter that’s full of antioxidants, as well as various vitamins and minerals.
And you can read more about how seriously nourishing cashews are in my other post – 14 Most Nutritious Nuts & Seeds (Plus One To Avoid).

Of course you are free to adapt this cashew butter recipe however you fancy.
You could add in a little raw honey or blended medjool dates, if you have a sweeter tooth.  Or swirl through finely chopped cashews for a coarser texture.

And if you aren’t so keen on the subtle taste of coconut oil, then by all means use an alternative such as sesame oil.

Homemade Cashew Butter Recipe

Note:  This cashew butter recipe will fit nicely into a spare peanut butter jar, of a regular size.  A food processor is also required.

  • 300g / 2 cups cashew nuts
  • coconut oil, just enough to blend the nuts into butter
  • sea salt, to taste

1  Grab your food processor, add all the ingredients and whizz them up.  Add enough oil (a little bit at a time) until you have your desired nut butter consistency.

2  If you’re using chopped nuts, remember to swirl them through after blending.

3  Then spoon your nut butter into a jar and voila!

So, how did your cashew nut butter recipe turn out?  Did you like it?  Did you adapt it?  And how do you like your nut butters – blended into a smoothie, stirred through a porridge, or maybe baked into your brownies?  Why not let me know below x
